do comments automatically go to “archives”?
-
Will comments over the maximum of 15 (as I set it up) automatically go into the archives widget? And will it, the archives, show the months in the drop-down menu or is this something I’ve overlooked?
Thanks much. -
The recent comments widget will simply show the latest number of comments as you have it set. The comments remain with the posts. The archives widget shows posts. Again, the comments stay with the posts they were made on.

Okay, this is the still-fuzzy part for me, the difference between “posts” and “comments.” But I’m getting there! Thanks very much!

Oh, I think I got it. *I* make/can make “posts” to one of my pages and those “posts” will, in time, find their way to the “archives.” Other folks dropping by make “comments.” If it’s that simple, I’m going to buy a bigger hat that’ll cover my whole head…..

You have it!
A post is what you write and publish to your blog. A comment is a reaction to that post by a viewer. The comment is always tied to the post.

You’re very welcome. Your hat in your avatar looks like the one I wear when I’m out doing landscape photography.

{chuckle} Thanks for the “u” you. For the most part I find myself using American English when blogging. ;)

I like the u (renegade that I am). Colour, humour, etc. look right with the u. I put in the u for a while in my writing, and kept getting told I was misspelling things. Sigh!

The hat’s a Tilley. Had about a dozen others and after getting this one a year or so ago, I’ve kept only my old fedora that’s been my “good luck” hat while driving trucks. Hoping Santa will get a second Tilley…if not, time for a new Santa.
