Do comments settings change with resetting themes?

    I’ve recently been messing around with the free appearance themes. My blog is http://imaginationisspicy.com and I’ve switched from the themes Pink Touch 2 to Twenty Eleven and then a customised Twenty Ten (my current theme).

    I had my settings to close comments on posts after three months which I set up in Pink Touch 2.

    That seemed to work fine with the transition to Twenty Eleven, but I just noticed tonight that a comment I approved (I do have mod approval on still, which is a chosen default) and replied to was one from a post that I would definitely have had commenting ability shut down on.

    My question is; should I be aware on changing themes that comment settings might need re-checking and readjusting in future? I haven’t been able to find that in searching the Support forum.
