Do edits to previous posts get publicized to Facebook and LinkedIn?
-
Not a problem, but a question: I recently set up my blog to publicize to both Facebook and LinkedIn, and have noticed that some people have in fact visited the blog because of this. I do, of course, want new posts to be publicized, but don’t want other changes to be, e.g. minor edits, adding tags, etc.
It’s not clear to me exactly when messages go out. Do all changes get publicized? And if so, is there a way to set this to only notify people of new posts?

By default, the publicize messages go out, only once, when you first publish a post, if you have setup your blog to do so. See preferences in http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/
Changes do not get “publicized”.
If you woud like to use publicize on older posts that have not already been shared that way, you can edit the post, click on Publicize, check the boxes you would like the post to be sent to (ie: the ones that it has not already been sent to), and save again. The post will be sent to your social networks then (only once).
