Do Email Subscribers Get Counted In Blog Stats?

If someone subscribes to my posts by email, does their subscription count as a hit on my blog?
For example, if I have 5 people that subscribe, do I get an automatic 5 hits on the day I post something because it’s sent to them by email?
It’s quite possible I don’t understand the blog stats entirely, but any explanation that would clear this up for me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
