Do I change my blog name before purchasing site redirect?

I’m planning on changing my blog name, but i’m a little confused on how to do it when using site redirect. Since you have to enter your new blog name when purchasing site redirect, do I have to change my blog name before my purchase, or enter my desired url when purchasing?

Hi there,
If you’d like to change your blog’s address and redirect your old address to the new one, you will need to the change the address first. When you do, please be sure not to discard the old address. We have a guide for that address change here:

Once you’re done, you can go to the Store page in the old blog’s dashboard and purchase a Site Redirect, entering your new address when you buy it.
