Do i get full access to plugins if i switch over to godaddy to host my site?

Right now I don’t have access to any plug-ins and I don’t want to switch to a wordpress.org name either. Will switching to godaddy help?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes. There are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested.

This guide explains how to transfer the domain name to another registrar.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

I transferred everything to GoDaddy and I still don’t have access to the plugins. Please help as I’ve spent lots of time, money and hassle on this.

    Thanks

Note that running your WordPress site at GoDaddy means that you’re using a self-hosted WordPress.org version. Therefore there should be a ‘Plugins’ tab/page in your blog’s dashboard.

I see that you still have http://blogerigorian.com/ hosted at WordPress.com. To point the domain you registered at WordPress.com to another server (hosting service), please follow the instructions here:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/#changing-domain-name-servers

Note you will need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)

Hope this helps – let us know if you have any more questions!

Thanks! But I’ve already done that, so when I login to the Domain Manager it doesn’t list blogerigorian.com under “all domains”.

GoDaddy told me that all the transfers went through and that I am set, but it seems like something is missing.

The transfer is done but the name server records of your domain are still pointed to WordPress.com.

You can log into your GoDaddy account and follow these steps:

1: Log in to your Account Manager.
2: Next to Domains, click Launch.
3: Select the domain name(s) you want to modify.
4: From the Nameservers menu, select Set Nameservers.
5: Under Setup type, select Standard.
    6: Click Save.

Okay I tried that (even though you were the first one to recommend it)

So far, I got this error message trying to go to blogerigorian.com

“Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.”

Thanks for helping by the way! If you could just answer some of the problems I’m facing I would truly appreciate it, and I’m sure it will help everyone else who will have these problems.

okay that just messed up my entire host.

Now I can’t even login to my site.

The name servers are still pointed to WordPress.com. In this case, I recommend contacting the host directly at https://support.godaddy.com/support/ . They can help you change the name server records on your account.

    Thank you.
