Do I Have to Choose a Domain or Paid Hosting Plan?
-
Hi,
In the past, when I’ve created travel blogs on WordPress.com as a way to share trip photos and thoughts with friends, it hasn’t cost anything to host them because they were always sited at the wordpress.com domain. Now, when I’m trying to take another blog at wordpress.com public, I’m being forced to choose a paid hosting plan or use another domain.
Has free hosting gone away, and if not, how do it use it?
Thanks,

Hi there,
To launch your site without upgrading your site to adding a new domain, go to My Site >> Settings >> General >>
Click on the Launch Site button and follow the prompts.
On Choose a domain page, type something in the search bar and then you’ll see your free .wordpress.com address with the Skip Purchase option at the bottom of that page. Then keep following any other free site prompts.
