Do I have to delete and start fresh?

I was watching a YouTube tutorial video and the order of making my website didn’t start from WordPress. For example, it advised to go to hostgator.com and create domain-> get hosting-> then install wordpress. What happens if I already have an account here? Do I have to delete this one and start from scratch? I’m a little confused how the order works…. Please help!

You already have a site here at WordPress.com https://tinyteachingshack.wordpress.com/
Hostgator is another host just like WordPress.com is. You only need to create a site there (and use the WordPress.org software) if you don’t want to be here at WordPress.com. You’re looking at videos that don’t particularly apply to your existing site. It would be far better to look at:
