Do I have to do something else to build a website with wordpress hosting?

I have a domain registered at Go Daddy, I have updated nameservers, but I cannot get into the wordpress site.

It can take up to 72 hours for the domain name to propagate throughout the internet after you have taken all the required steps. Has that time frame passed yet?

Did you also map your custom domain name to your blog here at WordPress.COM?

That is assuming you want the custom name to go to a blog here and not a blog on Godaddy.

No I did not map a name with wordpress. Is that free with wordpress hosting? -

Domain mapping is not free – $ 13.– / year
Domain mapping will have georgiaruthwrites.us/ as the address in visitors browser window and you will also get the rest of the address for a Post, Page also

Thanks, I guess that is the holdup. I thought self host WordPress.com did not involve a fee.

Let’s clarify: Self hosted WP.org blogs do NOT require a mapping fee. But this is the forum for WordPress.COM blogs, which do require that. Do you have a blog here? Like one with a whatever.wordpress.com URL? If not, you don’t need the upgrade. You need to be at WordPress.org for help with your WP.org blog.
