  If I own a Bluehost domain already and I want to transfer it to WordPress, do I pay both bluehost and wordpress?

  Mapping a domain to a site here would entail continuing to pay BlueHost for the domain and WordPress.com for a plan. Transferring a domain (provided you’ve owned it for more than 60 days) and you’d be paying WordPress.com for plan and domain going forward. https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/
