Do I Have to Pay to Upload Themes?

    Dear WordPress,

    I have my own themes and I want to upload it, but I can’t because there’s an explanition that ‘The errors above must be resolved before proceeding,’ and it says that ‘Business Plan Required’.
    My purpose of creating website from WordPress is because I want to learn. So why should I buy it if I don’t want to use it for business or commercial use?

    Hi there, only sites with the WordPress.com Business Plan are able to upload custom themes: https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/

    Other sites can select themes from the WordPress.com theme directory: https://wordpress.com/themes/

    If you let us know what kind of theme you’re looking for, we may be able to give some suggestions though. Also, if you’re not satisfied with this, you’re welcome to try using the self-hosted version of WordPress rather than WordPress.com. https://get.wp.com

    Hello there!

    I think you have a theme for the self-hosted version of WordPress.
    Here is a link that can help you know the difference between the two.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    On WordPress.com, you get a free blog, which vast features, to begin with. But it does not include uploading custom themes, or installing plugins etc.

    If you need to use your own theme, you may consider hosting a WordPress site using WordPress.org or getting a Business plan on WordPress.com. Whichever suits you better.
