Do I keep the Domain?

  Hi There,

  I am considering switching from wp.com to wp.org. I have a custom domain with wp.com and I was wondering when I switch, if I keep that domain? Also, I was looking into hosting at Bluehost. Please let me know.

  Also, I want all my content, comments, likes (etc.) to be migrated as well. How would I do that myself? Do I have to pay for that feature?

  I’m new to this and incredibly confused.

  Hi there,

  Your domain is yours at the least until October of 2015. You can renew it then or you can let it expire. You can use the domain with us or you can point it towards any other host and use it with them through the use of nameservers (when you sign up with your new host, they will give you the nameservers that you’ll need to use to point your domain towards them). Once you have your nameservers, just follow these directions to point your domain: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/

  Once your domain is over 60 days old, you can also transfer it if you’d like. Here’s a help article on how to do so: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/
