Do I lose followers if I change to custom domain

  I have the option for a custom domain for $18.99. I can change my web address from http://www.gringaofthebarrio.wordpress.com to http://www.gringaofthebarrio.com. My current blog has 8,500 followers. Will I lose them if I change my web address?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You will not loose followers and all the old address’s will still work as well as the new address

  You will however have a bit of a drop in search engine traffic while search engines get used to the new name
