Do I lose my good Google result with your custom domain plan?

    If I purchase custom domain and WordPress paid plan you are offering and migrating my site from myname.wordpress.com to myname.blog do I lose my previous domain’s good search result appearance in Google?

    Hi there,

    Search engines will have to re-index your site at the new domain, so you will experience a temporary drop in search engine traffic while that happens. But once the re-indexing completes in a few weeks, your site should have the same search ranking as it had before.

    If you verify your WordPress.com address with Google before you add the custom domain, you can then use the address change tool in Google Search Console to notify them of the domain change, which will help speed up this process.
