Do I need a paid plan for importing iframe?
-
Dear sir/madam,
I have two separate questions: I am using wordpress (free version) for my business’ site which is on the following URL: https://www.bluewaveswim.co.uk/
I would like to use a booking platform to take bookings through a third party platform. They provide an iframe to be added to the booking page of my website but they have suggested that I need to upgrade to a paid version of WordPress without providing any reason. could you please let me know if that is necessary for me to start using your business plan just in order to add their code for the iframe to my website? they have sent me the below link as how it could work: https://help.class4kids.co.uk/en/articles/3435907-integrate-classforkids-into-your-wordpress-site
2) How can i add a domain that I already own to wordpress.com dashboard?
i look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Marjan -
Hi Marjan,
I’m a little confused the site bluewaveswim.co.uk, is not hosted on WordPress.com, is it just the domain that you wanted to use with your WordPress.com site askthedrivingteacher.wordpress.com?
To clear up any further confusion, there is WordPress.com and WordPress.org and they are two different entities.
We, WordPress.com are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is a stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.
You can find more details about WordPress.com and WordPress.org on this support page:
https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
WordPress.com is a shared environment and we do not allow installing third-party themes or plugins as well as adding certain codes for security reasons. Business sites undergo a series of structural changes to allow all that and that is why you’d need Business plan to use an iframe code on your site.
How can i add a domain that I already own to wordpress.com dashboard?
If you have a custom domain registered elsewhere and you purchased one of our paid plans, you can use that domain as your primary address for your WordPress.com site.
You can either map it – your domain will stay with the current registrar and you’ll need to go to their site to manage anything domain related:
https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/Or, you can transfer the domain to WordPress.com and we’ll be your new registrar. This way you’ll manage everything from one place and you’ll be able to reach support with any domain related-issues :)
