Do I need my 3rd party hosting package does WordPress.com include hosting?
-
I have a WordPress.com website (blog), a domain name registered with a third party. I purchased domain mapping from yourselves. But I have purchased hosting from another company. Do I actually need that third party hosting package if I am on WordPress.com. That’s the feeling I’m getting reading the support material but I am not certain as others’ circumstances are different. I wonder if I need to get a refund from my third party hosting company… Please could you advise asap? Grateful for your help.

You do not need a hosting package if you are using WordPress.com. You would need a hosting package if you were setting up a self hosted WordPress site using the software available from WordPress.org.
Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

Thanks very much for your reply.
Please would you cancel my order and my direct debit placed on 21st April 2014. I have been advised by your sales dept that I need to ask you to do this via a support ticket.
If I transfer to WordPress.org and need hosting in the future I will come back to Heart Internet.
Please would you confirm that my order and direct debit have been cancelled.
Thank you.

Sorry I just realised my first message in this ticket was garbled. I purchased hosting from you and my domain & domain mapping from elsewhere.
Thanks for your help with the cancellation process.

I have processed that refund for you. Please be aware that it can take up to 7-10 business days for refunds to show up on your statement.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
