Do I need to buy a domain to appear on google search?

    I have made use of the free wordpress domain for my website, however it does not appear on the google searches?

    Probably a stupid question, but do I need to buy a domain ?
    I know I need one for better optimized plugins and features, but the free one has edit on each page, which tells me the website isn’t really published.

    If someone could let me know, I am happy to buy a domain and use the main wordpress.

    Your website is live on the web. The “edit” button is only visible to you (not anyone else) as you are still logged in to WordPress.com. The Happiness Engineers put it there for your benefit in case you wish to alter any content on a post.

    PS: Your account is only 5 days old and you currently have just two posts, so as staff-doublebassd says, it’s still early days for your site to have been indexed by search engines.

    If I register for a domain via a paid plan with wordpress, can I install extra plugins such as Yoast and google analytics?
