Do I need to do anything for my blog to be GDPR compliant or is that the responsibility of WordPress? Could I just block EU visitors?

Hi there, it’s not possible to block visitors from a particular country on your WordPressdotcom site and Automattic, the company that owns WordPressdotcom, made its tools GDPR compliant back when the law went into effect.
I also see that you’ve previously asked this question and received answers in these threads:

Hello again, links to all the practical information about your WordPressdotcom and GDPR have been given in this and your previous forum topics. If you have concerns beyond that information, you”ll want to consult with a lawyer.
Cheers.
