Do I need to have a plan? is it a must? Is there a work around?

    I already have a website/blog with another company. Can I still use this service to help index my site? Or do I need to purchase a plan? This is very frustrating because there are no options on your pages. Am I missing something here? . HELP!

    Hi there,

    I’m afraid I’m not clear on what you want to do.

    Right now you’re posting in the support forums for the hosting provider, WordPress.com. If you already have hosting somewhere else, there’s no reason why you’d need hosting with us as well, unless you plan to create an entirely separate site that’s hosted with us.

    Can I still use this service to help index my site?

    Can you provide some more details on what you mean here? In what way do you want to use WordPress.com to index your site?

    If you mean you want your site to appear in the WordPress.com Reader, all that’s necessary for that is for your site to have a valid RSS feed, and for someone to follow that feed in the Reader via their WordPress.com account.

    If you want your site to appear in Reader Search, you’ll need to connect the site here via the Jetpack plugin (provided your site is using the WordPress software already), and you’ll need to have a paid Jetpack plan.
