Do I need to pay, just to test it out?

    Hello,

Im considering using WordPress with Elemtor and so I’m currently trying to set it up, just to get a feeling. When i try to download the plugin, it says that it requires payment upfront? I don’t understand why i need to pay, just to test It out? Wix is another alternative and they give you the option to play around -without paying anything before you host. Why does WordPress charge so much?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

To use plugins here at WordPress.com, it requires an upgrade in your site’s architecture which is only available by upgrading to a Business Plan.

Of note, we can only assist with websites hosted at WordPress.com. The free, open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) still needs hosting in order to be used. Free sites offered at WordPress.com are for simple sites that don’t need third party plugins or themes. Since Elementor is a third party plugin, you would need to upgrade even to “try it out”.

If you do decide to upgrade, most subscriptions can be canceled for a refund within 14 days of purchase or renewal, or 7 days for subscriptions that are billed monthly. This includes the WordPress.com Personal, Premium, Business, and eCommerce plans, Google Workspace, and Professional Email. You can use that time to try it out and get a refund if it doesn’t suit your needs.

I hope that clarifies things! Let us know if you have any questions.
