Do I own my WP content?
-
Who owns content posted on a WordPress site? The user/writer? Or WordPress? I’m asking because I’m hoping to promote my new work of fiction through my WP blog, but I want to know if, in posting sections from my original work on a WP site, if there will be copyright complications related to my original work.

You own your blog content as long as you are the author of it.

You own what you create. It is common practice for journals and literary agents to reject previously published writing, but what exactly does previously published mean? Why are most literary agents and editors unwilling to take a chance on work that has already appeared elsewhere? When is it appropriate to submit previously published work? Bottom line: Try not to publish your work online if you plan to submit it elsewhere for publication. If you’ve published your writing on blogs and or social networks it is generally considered previously published. And that means that traditional publishers will not publish your book.

P.S. I strongly suggest you research this topic very carefully before you start publishing excerpts from your book online.

You are welcome but I do thin that you do need to do more research on this topic, especially if you intend to approach the traditional publishers re: publishing your book.
