Do I own the domain cooking with Cydney dot com?

Hello I signed up for #blogging101 and was checking to see if the new blog I purchased yesterday appears in Google. I saw someone is using the same name on Pintrest. I want to be clear that I own the domain http://www.cookingwithcydney.com

You do own the domain cookingwithcydney.com. Perhaps the Pinterest user is a former owner of the domain, and they no longer update their Pinterest account so they haven’t changed their domain. Every user that visits cookingwithcydney.com will see your site. They will not be directed to anyone else!

And thought it would be best to buy my blog site before the classes start.
Think they need a 101 on how to buy 😊
It gets a little confusing because when I received my confirmation email from WordPress for the purchase of the name it also said
Cookingwithcydney.wordpressblog.com
(Something like that)
It’s gets a little confusing with all the suffixes

The email would have included the address cookingwithcydney.wordpress.com, which is your default blog address. If, for whatever reason, you cancelled the domain, your site would still be available there.
At this point, cookingwithcydney.wordpress.com and cookingwithcydney.com are effectively the same site. Your readers will only see cookingwithcydney.com.
