Do I still get ads if I map a domain?

    I have a free blog on wordpress.com that I would like to map a domain or subdomain to. I understand this costs $13/year. If I pay to map the domain or subdomain, will I still have ads or the ‘Powered by WordPress’ line at the bottom of my blog’s pages?

    Hello,

    Yes, ads will still be displayed sometimes even if you map a domain or subdomain. To eliminate ads on your blog entirely, you can purchase the WordPress.com Premium or WordPress.com Business plans. Both plans give you a domain credit, meaning you can register a domain, map a domain or subdomain with the benefit of no more ads.

    In addition, purchasing a plan does not remove the WordPress.com footer credits and all bloggers have to maintain the credit links as per the Terms of Service.
