Do my visits include invited users who receive the blog daily

Do my stats only relate to people who find the blog through the Internet or do they also include my invited users? Often the stats look low but then my invited users tell memtheynhave read the blog that day and the figures don’t tally.

Hi there. With “invited users” do you mean people who receive the blog via email?
Pageviews are only generated when someone physically visits your blog.
If your feed settings (Settings ->Reading) are set to publish full posts in your feed as opposed to summaries, that means your entire post goes out via email and people can read it in its entirety when it lands in their inboxes. In other words, they don’t actually visit your blog, and you never get a pageview.
Same goes for people who might be following your blog via RSS readers: they’ll be able to read entire posts in the feed reader and as a result never visit your actual blog and never generating a page view.
If you want to force people to visit your blog rather than read entire posts in their email you’ll have to change the feed setting to Summary in your dashboard: https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/reading-settings/
Keep in mind, though, that both approaches have their pros and cons. For example, if you change to summary your view stats might go up, but fewer people might actually read the blog as they don’t want to click on a link to visit it.
Personally I prefer the summary setting, but many people prefer full-text, so it’s up to you.

About two hundred people ( friends family friends of family) are invited users and the blog goes straight to their inbox via email on a daily or more than daily (!) basis. So those people will see the photos and text and it won’t show up as a view….I think that is what you are saying? So the others who come up on the stats as visitors and views are coming via the Internet or via someone who already receives the blog via email and sends it in because they think the recipient will be interested?

Exactly. Unless they choose to click the link included with the email and visit your blog in their browser.

Yes. Pageview stats are for people who physically visit your blog in their browsers through clicking a link in an email or feed Reader, on a social media site where it was shared, or because it showed up when they searched for something on Google, Yahoo, etc. The referrers section of the stats page in fact shows you where most of that traffic comes from: https://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#referrers
