Do not notify followers on a specific post
-
Hi,
is it possible NOT to notify followers for a specific post ?
Issue is that my blog hosts some posts which have already been published on a paper magazine. Therefore, those posts are not NEW and should not be notified to followers.
Does WordPress.com allow that?I hope my explanation is clear.
Thanks for your help,
Dov

Sure, it makes sense. I asked about this in the past as I have some old content I’d like to put up online, but don’t need them to be published as new. The simple answer is that you cannot… while the blog is public. But, you might check out this thread:

The gist of it is to make your blog private and then publish the posts. You can even backdate posts in draft form. When you’re done adding the old material, make the blog public again. To change the visibility settings on your blog go –> Dashboard –> Settings and click on Reading. Scroll down and look for Site Visibility. Select: I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose. Don’t forget to scroll down and click Save Changes.
