Do not see a link to feed?
-
If I send a link to my blog (http://name.wordpress.com/), what do my friends do to subscribe to it? I do not see any link they can click (Isn’t that icon that is orange looking is used?, I don’t have on mine).
-
There are some themes that have the RSS button built in, but others rely on you to post it in your sidebar; instructions for that are in the FAQ under “RSS.”
You can tell your friends your feed is just http://name.wordpress.com/feed . Or you can do what I do, which is use the RSS widget and just put my own feed in there instead of someone else’s.

‘use the RSS widget and just put my own feed in there instead of someone else’s’
How do I do this? Sorry I am not a very tech guy. -
Under Presentation–>Widgets, drag the RSS widget into your sidebar. Then click on it to open it up. Put the URL of your own feed in there. When you’re done, click the X and it’ll close up. Hit Update and then it’ll be in your sidebar.

I did but it is not shoing up. I did was:
· Drag a Text Widget to your sidebar
· Open it by clicking the blue lines
· Type the following:
<img src=”image-location” />
· Save the changes -
Put the code you’re trying to paste in between backticks, those little marks on the same key as ~ that look like this: `
That will make it display properly.
You’re using a different way to do it than I described. My way is easier, trust me. But you CAN do it with a text widget if you want, you just need to use the correct code.

Raincoaster, Yes,yours is much much easier (I copied the one I wrote from one of the posts). However, when I click on the widget, it doesn’t do anything. Should it ask something and give options? it is at http://jacobsmith.wordpress.com/

In the widget it looks like you just put the link to your blog itself, not to the feed. The feed is http://jacobsmith.wordpress.com/feed so put all of that in. Then when people click on it they’ll be subscribed to your feed. Right now it’s just a link to the blog.

if I want to subcsribe to a blog, do I need : *to install anything to subscribe? *or in my case do I need to be logged in my wordpress blog and it will automatically add?
-
You need to have an RSS reader to subscribe. But you can add a blog in Blog Surfer; you get to that from your Dashboard. It’s a place to keep all the WP.com blogs you regularly visit that you don’t necessarily want in the blogroll.
-
Still confused. Even if I have a WP blog, do I need a reader? In short, how do I subscribe to the following blogs under my own blog at WP:

You need a feed reader to read RSS feeds, ie to subscribe.
But you can just put those blogs in your blog surfer and you can read them there. You won’t need to use a feed reader like Bloglines or Google Reader.
-
And I’m not sure what you mean by “subscribe under my own blog?” Do you mean you want to put their feeds in your sidebar? That’s easy. You just find their feed link, which is just like yours, the blog name with /feed on the end, and you put it in another feed widget.
-
You mean I will add a RSS widget with the following?
http://blog.bluesuitmom.com/feed/
http://www.techlearning.com/blog/feed/
CAN I REMOVE THEM ANYTIME? HOW?

Okay, wait. I made a mistake. Those are not necessarily their feed URLs. They’re not WordPress.com blogs. You’ll have to go to their site and find their Feed URLs. They’ll have “feed” in them somewhere, and they’re usually on that orange Feed button. You put THAT in the RSS widget.

I want to put feed of some another blog into my sidebar but there is only one rss widget that I have already used for my blog. What shall I do?
