Do people have to register with wordpress in order to leave a comment

  Hi there. That depends on your discussion settings. The strictest setting requires users to be logged in to comment. Or you can require only a username and email address, or you can let anyone comment. I won’t recommend the last option, as that will open your site up to spam.

  Users can also comment via their Facebook, Twitter and G+ accounts.
