Do Search Engines Crawl and Index WordPress.com “pages”
-
By “pages” I mean “not regular posts”. You know, like the about my page and any other page you might make.
I’ve been looking to see if google has caught any of the specific words in my about page and I can see that it has…even though it is indexing the rest of my pages perfectly.

The way to insure that your static pages are crawled is by writing posts with links to those pages. By writing a post from time to times that discusses what can be found on your pages and notifying readers of updates to static pages they get crawled. ;)

Great idea. Thanks for the advice. art of the issue is that don’t always write “keywords” in my posts…because the posts are about the subject, not about what the subject is.
F example, When I write a restaurant review, I don’t usually use the word “restaurant”.
But in the “Why I’m writing” page, Iuse all the key words.
Thanks again.
you guys rock.

Static pages just do not have the google juice that blog posts do. If you want something to rank high on searches, put it in a blog post. Key words will never, ever overcome the advantage that blog posts have.
