Do the GoDaddy wordpress hosting packages correspond to the wordpress packages? for example, GoDaddy ‘Starter’ = wordpress ‘free’. ‘Business’=Premium. ‘Pro’ = Business. I need to know what level of wordpress support I will get with a GoDaddy wordpress hosting package?

Go to GoDaddy and ask there please.

As you are not referring to a WordPress.COM hosted blog you are posting to the wrong support forum and we cannot help you.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page -

No they don’t. WordPress.com provides free blogs and hosts them free of charge. There are no bandwidth charges. All WordPress.com blogs come with 3000 megabytes (~3 GBs) of space for storing uploaded files and images. Free features are listed here https://en.wordpress.com/features/

I did ask GoDaddy, twice, and they had no idea what level of support I would receive from WordPress if I purchased any of their WordPress hosting packages. But they both said it was a very good question, and they were interested in the answer too. So thats why I have contacted you. You have not answered my question. Please confirm you will refer this to senior staff to answer. Thank you.

The WordPress.org support forums are peer support forums. There is no Staff support at http://wordpress.org/support/

Note also: This forum is only for the support of blogs hosted on WordPress.COM (here) and we do not provide any support for WordPress.ORG installs or for sites hosted on Godaddy

You will not get any support here at WordPress.COM from our Staff at for any site that is not hosted here by WordPress.COM.
Godaddy hosted sites all run on WordPress.ORG software and the WordPress.ORG support forums are peer support forums. There is no Staff support at http://wordpress.org/support/

@auxclass
GoDaddy support staff are aware of what I posted at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/do-the-godaddy-wordpress-hosting-packages-correspond-to-the-wordpress-packages?replies=8#post-2153227 or if they aren’t, then they either need to be educated or given the boot. -
OK I understand now. Thank you. It would be great to have a premium option for wordpress.org, I hope this is an option one day.
-
You’re welcome. But please do not hold your breath because there will not be Staff support for WordPress.ORG open source free software at http://wordpres.org/support/
Also note that there is no hand holding support like we Volunteers provide here at WordPress.org support. You have to read the manual https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page and search the support threads there and if you don’t you will be either ignored or humiliated for not doing so.

can you please confirm that pluggins cannot be used on wordpress.com?
Correct you can’t use Plugin’s at WordPress.COM, but there are a lot of Widgets and Short Codes that take the place of many Plugin’s
If you have a specific Plugin you can’t live without, post what it does and the name and someone will probably know if it is already built in

timethief, you posted to melissafreeburn: “Also note that there is no hand holding support like we Volunteers provide here at WordPress.org support. You have to read the manual” Didn’t you mean ‘Also note that there is no hand holding support like we Volunteers provide here at WordPress.COM support. You have to read the manual’? I’m new to this. Aren’t we now on WordPress.com (not org)?
Thank you
