Do the wordpress plans come with hosting?

All of the information I’ve found on this seems to completely contradict itself. I’m wondering if the WordPress plans come with hosting or does hosting need to be purchased from an external company? Everyone I’ve asked seems to say you need hosting to get a website going, but then the WordPress website says each package doesn’t require hosting so I’m confused.

No not exactly. Hosting is actually free, so that we can “host” your free site if you do not have upgrades. The upgrades themselves just unlock more features and capabilities that our free sites do not have.

Our plans do all include a free domain name (for the first year) but they do not include email. However, if you need email you can purchase a matching address. We recommend Titan email, and at the time I am writing this is $3.50/inbox per month. Sorry, now I’m confused again. The previous staff member stated that hosting is included with all of the paid packages. It seems every person I ask or every site I visit seems to have a different answer on it so I guess I’ll try asking the question differently.

If you site is created on WordPress.com – then no you do not.

WordPress plans come with free built-in hosting, which you not have to pay extra for.
You would not need to pay extra for hosting.
