Do viewers to my WordPress site have to be wordpress members?

Do viewers to my WordPress site have to be wordpress members? Can they see it as a website just by clicking on my url: lonestarmunsonsblog.wordpress.com? This is for family members of all levels of technical knowledge and I want to make access to our private reunion site as simple as possible.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Provided the blog visibility is Public as it is now anyone with internet access can view your blog. If you make the blog visibility private at Dashboard > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/ the ability to view it is lost.
If you’d like to invite others to publish posts or help approve comments on your blog, you can invite them to be a Contributor, Editor, or Author. If you want users to receive updates each time you publish new content you can invite them to be a follower/viewer. http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/

Yes they need to register username accounts and all that’s required is an email address to do that. Do understand that if you make the blog visibility private the software has to be able to know who has been granted access to the blog by the blog owner and who has not been granted access.

Thanks for your quick response. Please confirm that I am understanding correctly that if the site is public, no one has to sign up for a WordPress account or identity to view it? If so, that relieves many of my fears. That seems simple enough.
However, I’m thinking that some people even may balk at giving out their email addresses. I’ll test this with a few of our cousins who can give us feedback on how they feel about it and how hard it is for them to do. I think that we’ll be inviting them to follow/view.

Anyone can register a throwaway email address quickly and easily and keep their personal email address restricted to friends and family use only.

Also WordPress.COM will not give out an email address unless served with a court order. The email address will not be sold or rented,

This is reassuring. Thanks for all the information. Being new to WordPress, I’ve still got a lot to learn.
