Do WP Have and RSS Reader for Readers to Subscribe to?

  I would like to have a way for readers to get email updates and also be able to track how many people have subscribed to my blog. Is there a WP option I can add to my blog in order to accomplish this or do I need to use 3rd party software?

  I know there is a feed option for reading the blog and that a person can “subscribe” but I am not sure this is the same concept as I am hoping to accomplish.

  The RSS links to the posts and comments are right at the top of your blog on the right hand side. People can subscribe using those icons, or they can use the subscribe to RSS buttons in their browsers.

  For email updates, this search of the FAQ’s for “email updates” brought this: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/10/11/how-can-i-offer-email-updates/ .

  WordPress does not at this time give you any way to track how many people have subscribed to your blog’s RSS feed.

  I don’t have this link on the upper right of my blog, is there a way of adding this (or a reason why it wouldn’t be showing up?)

  If so, you can add RSS links to a text widget as explained in this FAQ: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/10/23/put-your-feed-in-your-sidebar/ .
