Do you have to be logged in to Post to wordpress?
-
Hello
I am writing a blog for people at work. Do they have to download wordpress and be logged in in order to post to the blog? They would rather be able to post externally if that is possible and there are restrictions on downloading software to work machines.thank you
Jane
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To be able to create posts yes they will have to have registered here and been added to a blog.
To be able to comment then no, anyone can.But if you make the blog private due it being a work blog then to post or comment they will need to register and be added to that blog.
It sounds like a hassle but it’s a one-time event.
For Posting they could use QuickPress which is shortcut that can be used from a browser’s bookmarks. Check the Tools menu in the blog for that.
Does that help?

Thanks Mark. Thats helpful regarding the logging in situation.
I cant find the Quickpress tool though – it doesnt appear in my blog/tools options (or anywhere else on the dashboard as far as i can tell). Can you let me know where it is pleasethanks

Sorry – my mistake.
Press This is in Tools > Extras.
You can drag that to the browser bookmarks. Note! If you decide to write and you are on a website (as you would be) it will autofill the title and put a text excerpt in. Useful for when you want to post a link to that page, less so if you’ve just had a great idea unconnected to the page. So a little deletion might be needed.QuickPress is on the dashboard:
