I’ve taken a look into your account and it appears that the domain is currently still registered through Siteground. It looks like the transfer to WordPress from Squarespace was initiated, but the process was stopped when you canceled your upgrades a couple of weeks ago.

I am highly confused over my progress of securing a website and host for my new business. I had purchased a WordPress package 2 weeks ago and in panic from the confusion and lack of verbal support I backed out and have received a refund. Within that package we had requested, and paid for, a transfer of my domain (patiodallas.com). I have since signed up with Hostgator because they have phone support 24/7 and they made the process very simple. At this time I need to construct my website and am willing to let WordPress be the location for that. However, I am still confused over WP structure and am in dire need for your assistance in explaining to me where I am in that process. I am currently signed into WordPress yet I don’t know if it is a WP blog account, or a WP website. It shows my real NAME Kyle Lindley, as well as showing the Patiodallas.com. Please advise as to my current status, and where to go from here. Thanks in advance.

I’ve never heard of Siteground and have gotten no help from squarespace in this transfer. I appreciate your response but it has stopped short of finding a solution to my issue of finding my domains location and getting it transferred out. Another question is does the domain need to be transferred to bot WordPress and to Hostgator?

WordPress.com is a hosting provider similar to Hostgator, and you can only have your domain transferred or registered with one company. Hostgator also offers one-click installs of the WordPress software for easy setup. If your website is hosted at Hostgator, it would be logical to transfer your domain there. You can check your domain’s WHOIS information to confirm the registrar on record, which, in your case, is “Squarespace Domains II LLC.” You can verify this by searching for your domain here: https://lookup.icann.org/en
Since Squarespace is your domain registrar, they are the ones who can assist you with initiating the domain transfer process, regardless of where you intend to transfer your domain.
