Do you need a paid subscription to get listed on search engines?
-
I’m curious because I can’t find my site anywhere on Google.
I’ve had sites in the past that show up in search engines, so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there!
No, you do not need a paid plan for your site to appear in the results on Google, it just takes time for the new sites to be indexed.
To explain how this works: Google’s robots (and other search engines) “crawl” the web daily looking for new content. When they find a new site, it takes a little while for it to be displayed properly when searched for by people. Note that you can help search engines find you by submitting your new site to their indexation services. Google, for example, has a tool called “Search Console” which allows you to submit your site: https://search.google.com/search-console/welcome

Thank you for the response! I verified with Google and Bing that I own the site. I realized I only had pages without posts so I converted them almost a week ago. I have 5 posts now, so hopefully that helps it get indexed!
