Do you social share counters move with your blog?

    I was wondering does anybody know the answer to this please.
    I recently bought domain mapping and was going to switch to a shorter domain and stay with wordpress.com.
    However the counters on past posts on the social media buttons are lost when I do so.
    I was wondering if I move blog to .org is it possible to bring these counters over too? I know you can have your followers moved but is this possible too?

    No, it is not. That’s because the counters count the number of times the URL has been shared, and if you change the URL as you do by getting a domain name, either here or elsewhere, your shares reset.
