Do you think this is possible? Widening the Outspoken theme with CSS.
-
Hi all,
I have used the Outspoken theme for almost a year now and I love it. I will be upgrading to the Business option in a couple of months to get Google Analytics but that will also give access to other Premium themes.
I really have had no problems with Outspoken and it works so well for all the content I produce. That said I would LOVE if it were full width rather than boxed. It’s just a little thing I guess but it would be nice.
Is this something that could be done with CSS? And the better question would be if so would it be reliable in terms of responsiveness? I haven’t found another full-width premium theme that would be as effective in handling all the content like Outspoken does.
So too messy to use CSS to widen or do’able? What do you think? Thanks in advance for your thoughts. My site is https://thirtysummers.com/
Cheers Saxon

Hi Saxon, with the slider at the top of your site, widening Outspoken looks like it may be a challenge due to the way the slider CSS and HTML are done. The other thing to keep in mind when widening themes is readability. In general it is best to keep the text-based content at about 500-750px in width. It’s actually a bit more complex on width, but that works as a general rule.
It might be worth it to take a look at some of the other themes that perhaps have a full width slider.

Thanks for that! Yeah I think I’ll have a good trawl through all the themes. I just couldn’t find one that really matched my current one re: suitability for my content. Maybe I may even just lighted the background to give an illusion of more space. Thx too re: the tips on site width and readability connection.
