Do you use a "captcha" type plugin on your login page?

I looked all over worpress.com for a forum named “plugins”, but couldn’t find it, so please excuse me if this is not the appropriate place for this question, and do tell me where it should go :)

I have a few plugins for re-captcha, wp-captcha, and so on, along with Jetpack security, Security security, security to secure my security, and so on. Today, I went to log in and there was no “captcha” on my login screen. Then, it didn’t like my password, so I changed it, used it, but it didn’t like it again. I noticed at the end of the URL that there was something like …wp-captcha=false or something like that. It was as if the captcha was there, but I couldn’t see it, thus I couldn’t fill it out, thus it wouldn’t let me in. I figured a work around, which is cool, but I’ve Enabled and Disabled all of my security stuff, captcha stuff, etc., then enabled them one at a time, but no captcha or re-captcha on my login form.

So, long story long, what do you use for your login form? Captcha or re-captcha plugin or something else entirely?

Also, do you have any thoughts on why the captcha isn’t showing on my login?

I’ve been working with Chrome and Firefox on this issue.

    Thanks in advance!

    John

Not sure what the problem was, but I uninstalled all “captcha” plugins. All of them. Then, I did some research and installed one and it works. Just like that.

We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and not for WordPress.org software installs. There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we bloggers cannot installs any plugins. You are posting to the wrong support forum.

Note that WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. In the future you must post to http://wordpress.org and if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click that link to register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
