Docstoc Embed Widget – Who Wants to Use On their WordPress.com Hosted Blog
-
Please let us know if you have a need to use the Docstoc Embed Tool on your WordPress Hosted Blog (WP hosted blogs currently do not support that flash) – http://www.docstoc.com/embed-documents
Thanks,

Would be dope! I’d most certainly use it. Kinda sucks to have to just link to it when I could just embed it.

Hey guys, i just started http://www.reinsider.wordpress.com. Part of the goal of my blog is to showcase legal documents. By blocking this embed feature, I am losing traffic as readers leave my site to read a particular document. I would love to have this fixed. Thanks, Jason!

My blog Envisioning Strategy at http://smehro.wordpress.com would benefit significantly with the ability to embed docstoc documents.

@jasonln and all, does the code contain javascript, flash, iframes or forms? If so, they are not allowed here at wordpress.COM due to security concerns. Facebook and some of the other blogging platforms have been bought down by bad javascript and flash in the recent past, and wordpress.COM has security as a very high priority.
-
Since it appears to be Flash, you should be able to post DocStoc using the Vodpod button from Vodpod.com
-
Probably not Rain.
The vodpod people said that wordpress had contacted them and told them they wanted them to limit the vodpod button to videos only. No other type of flash or such.
-
Hmm, oh well then. Suppose that rules out some of the liveblogging software as well, dammit.
-
-
Sweet if it worked here at wordpress.COM, but my understanding is that it won’t because the code contains stuff that is not allowed here.
-
I would love that, would make my life a lot easier! Especially on my wordpress.com sites.

docstoc needs to talk directly with wordpress.COM to see if wordpress will accommodate them.

If you want to embed or link to docstoc documents, you might want to check out Lizzer. It’s a free bookmarklet that lets you search either all docstoc documents or just the ones in your account.
Then, you can either link or embed the document with just one click.
Check it out at http://lizzer.com.

I really wish I would have known about this a while ago. Links are so annoying. Not only that, they take people off of your page and squarely in front of someone else’s. With this feature I can keep eyeballs on my content and not off on some goose chase to find the reference material I’m talking about. I’m definitely gonna try this out the next time I write a post.
