document uplaod

When I attempt to upload documents from my hard drive, WordPress does not always recognize all of my document folders. My document folders only contain Microsoft Word files and PDF files.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there – Are you trying to upload the actual folders? If so, this will not work. Please upload only the individual files that end in .pdf or .doc or .docx. You can upload them in batches by selecting more than one at once.

    Hi eurello:

No, I am not trying to upload the folders. WordPress does not show half of the folders that are contained in My Documents library.

  • Hi there- Do you mean when you click ‘Upload Files’ the window that your computer opens does not show all of your folders? Can you try moving the needed documents onto your desktop and uploading them from there? You might also try opening your folder first, and then dragging and dropping the documents into the Media Uploader window.

Hi, again–Correct, when I click Upload Files the window does not show all of the folders (the window does show some)…this phenomenon has only recently begun in the last year so I have had to save the documents that I wish to upload to My Documents outside of a particular folder and then I can upload.

Anything in WordPress that would be causing the window not to show all of the folders?

  • Hi there – Not that I know of – this seems like something to do with your computer. If you’d like to make a screenshot of what this looks like when you Add Media, that might give me some more insight. Here are instructions for how to make a screenshot: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/

You can upload the screenshot to your Media Library and I can look at it there. :)
