Does a pc crash affect the import process?

So I’ve been trying to import my blog from tumblr and it was going fine for a good while, I kept the tab open on my laptop to keep checking and the transferred posts number was going up. Then, my laptop crashed.
I didn’t get back on to check again for a couple of hours. When I did, I realised the number wasn’t changing anymore, but given how many people are transferring right now I thought nothing of it at the time.
It’s been over 24 hours since that point though and it still hasn’t changed at all. Could my laptop crashing have damaged the process somehow, or is it just stuck because of all the traffic? I know long waits are to be expected right now, I just thought I’d check just in case.

Hi there,
The import process runs on our servers, not in your browser or on your laptop, so your laptop crashing has nothing to do with this. It’s safe to navigate away from the importer or even switch off your computer after starting an import.
But it does appear that you started more than one import, which might have caused the original import to stop before it was complete.
I currently see an import queued for your site, so it should start again as soon as the importer gets to it. We’re seeing incredibly high volume for Tumblr imports, though, so it might be a while – I can’t give an estimate at this point.
In the meantime it’s safe to start adding new content to your WordPress.com site – it won’t affect the import either – and any posts already imported will be skipped automatically once the new import begins.

Okay, phew~ I did think it might be like that, but the timings of it all threw me.
I did have a problem with starting the import on the first day; I cancelled before it imported any posts and then tried to restart it. It wouldn’t let me, so I had to start a thread then to get help restarting it.
I haven’t messed with it at all since then in case it did the same thing, so I haven’t started or changed anything intentionally at least. Could it be the first day that’s showing up on the system?
Annnd I had more typed out, but now I see the number has literally started going up again while I’ve been writing!
I still want to say thank you though for getting back to me. I also didn’t know I could do anything to the site while the importing was taking place so thank you for letting me know that as well and putting my mind at rest~ :)

It looks like the import on your site has completed now. If you’re still missing posts, please restart the import now – posts already on your WordPress.com site will be skipped by the importer. It might again take a while, though.
