does a personal plan include connect domain feature?

I am using free account and planning to buy a personal plan so I can use my existing domain. I just wonder if “personal plan” includes “connect domain” feature or I have to buy premium? the reason I am asking is that when I choose connect domain, it automatically bring premium plan and I cannot see any option to choose personal!

Yep! All of our plans, when paid yearly, include the domain connection upgrade needed to use your domain here at WordPress.com. So the Personal plan would work just fine!
Each plan level does have additional features, so I encourage you to check out the other options just in case there are other features you want as well like access to the CSS editor, live chat support, and more! :)

Excellent, thanks for the help. But can you also advise if I can upgrade form one plan to another by paying the difference? In other words, I end up concluding the personal plan is not sufficient, can I pay the difference and upgrade to premium or we always ned to pay full amount?

Absolutely, @asadrinfo . Also, to clarify, you can get a domain connection with a monthly upgrade as well. We just don’t have a “first year free registration or transfer” option on that, and the year plan tends to be the better deal.

My website is just a personal blog running on GoDaddy for 2-3 years. I found your environment and plans more interesting, cost-efficient and more appropriate for my site. that is why I spent some time to build my pages on a free account and now it is time to buy a plan to point the my domian address. since this is a personal blog only, I thought the personal plan would be sufficient but I was also curious that in case I realised I am missing a feature, can I upgrade to let say premium later and just pay the difference. Hope with that info you can assist.

Thank you for the additional context! You can definitely get started with the Personal plan and upgrade to Premium if you need more features. You can take a look at the detailed comparison here to see if there’s anything particular you want that’s only available on the Premium plan (like Custom CSS support).
But if you’re not sure, you can start with Personal. If you upgrade to Premium later, you’ll get a pro-rated price, which will take into account the remaining period of the Personal plan and give you pro-rated credits to upgrade by paying the difference.
If there are specific features you have in mind that you will need on your site, feel free to tell us about them. We can confirm if the features you want are available on the Personal plan.
