Does adding a Page email your subscribers?

  I was just wondering if posting a Page on your wordpress blog causes all of your email subscribers to be notified of it.

  If so, is there any way to add a post or a page without this email notification being sent out?

  No it does not. Pages do not have RSS feeds.
