does ANY part of the reader/commenter experience in WordPress work right?

Utterly baffling. I spend a lot of time online, so I don’t think this is ‘me.’
Somehow WordPress arbitrarily changed my username to be a generic construct taken from my email addess: ‘[name]gmailcom’. I tried to comment on a blog some weeks ago, and it didn’t go well. I moved on; I’m strictly a reader and don’t have a crucial need to post, though I’ve done it in the past.
This morning, I took the trouble to look into my WP account, got an email-address verification, changed my username to 808Pants, and saw that this was confirmed in my profile after refresh. All good, right?
Nope. I go back to the comment I was going to post, refreshed the page, confirmed my new username was correct, and wrote a few sentences. Clicked to post.
What resulted was a lamely-partial display of ‘Access Denied – GoDaddy Website Firewall.’ Can’t even see the full text of that, nor scroll. There’s another tab visible with the GoDaddy icon, but clicking on that…gets you to a sad-face broken-link icon.
Not impressed.
All of this was after months of being spammed to death by a great blog that couldn’t be controlled in frequency: there simply wasn’t any means on the subscription controls to complete the selection of ‘one time per week,’ though perhaps that feature is working now.
So who is RUNNING WP, and do they care? Are they paying any attention?
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

JFC! Why does WP’s default behavior insist on posting my email address as part of my avatar? It’s so cleverly coded that a five-year-old could correctly guess the actual construct!
Just add that to the list of “WTF” items I’ve already posted. And there’s no means I can find to get rid of that – even hiding my “photo and gravatar profile” doesn’t do it, at least in my view.
If this doesn’t change very quickly, I’m going to circle back and delete whatever I can.

Hi there!
We do not change usernames unless you request the change in your settings. If you had a different account, it is surely using a different email address.
I can see you’ve changed your display name to 808Pants, but the username stayed the same. If you’d like to change that, please have a look here:

It sounds like you had an issue commenting on a site hosted on GoDaddy. I’m afraid that’s not something we can help you with here, on WordPress.com. This is a common confusion so let me explain.
There is WordPress.com and WordPress.org, and they are two different entities.
We, WordPress.com, are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting, like GoDaddy.
You can find more details about WordPress.com and WordPress.org on this page:
https://wordpress.com/go/website-building/wordpress-com-vs-wordpress-org/
I hope that helps :)
