You cannot insert a post slider into any theme here at WordPress.COM that is not deigned to have one. So do be clear on that.

I am trying to set up The SKETCH theme for my site.
Can not figure out how to get the slider to actually function. Only instruction I found says to create tags on the portfolio page template.
Nothing seem to happen -

From the Pictorico theme support page,
To set up Pictorico’s post slider:
- Navigate to Appearance → Customize → Featured Content.
- Enter the name of a tag.
- Click the blue Save button at the bottom.
- Create a post with a featured image that’s at least 1180px wide.
- Give the post the tag you declared under Appearance → Customize → Featured Content.

A slider for your featured content appears on the Portfolio page template.
To set up Sketch‘s Featured Content area:
- Navigate to Appearance → Customize → Featured Content.
- Enter the name of a tag.
- Click the blue “Save” button at the bottom.
- Create a post, page, or portfolio item with a Featured Image.
- Give the post the tag you declared under Appearance → Customize → Featured Content.
