Does Colinear have the caption feature?

Does Colinear have the caption feature? The caption in edit looks fine but appears as regular text when published or previewed.
Do you have a suggestion for an alternate theme, one that is clean and uncluttered like Colinear, or is there another way to do this?

Hi there:
Can you give us an example of what you’re expecting the caption to look like versus what it looks like on the front end of your site? It would be most helpful if you could take a screenshot of that. If you’re not familiar on how to take a screenshot, this support document will help explain how to make one:
Then, use a service like Snipboard.io to upload the screenshot and then share the image link from that service here and we’ll take a closer look.
Otherwise, you can review the themes we offer – including narrowing down the theme by layout/feature – and see if there’s one that will better suit your needs here:
Thanks!

I am having problems with Colinear: editing vs publishing is inconsistent, i.e., images are out of place instead of side by side.
Captions seem to be non-existent I just put hem in italics, but there is no way of reducing the font. They look fine in the editor but not when published. I need proper captions, but they don’t exists in Colinear.
Am I using the wrong theme? I changed to it 6 months ago because my older there was discontinued.
My feeling is that Wordptress.com is getting way to complicated.

Hi! I noticed your base font size is Large. If you’d like to change that back, head to Customize > Font Size and set the base font size to normal.
I didn’t see which images are supposed to be side by side, or what’s having caption issues, but I did see a few images that are nearly full width but with a skinny column of text next to them, and can’t imagine that’s intentional.
Can I recommend either using a gallery block to put images side by side, or making your images the full content width?
Also, I don’t remember whether I helped you or someone with a similar site about planes, but your site is ringing a bell, and I seem to recall an issue with making tables fit. If you’re interested, many of the newer block-based themes will actually let you set up a table that is much wider. Instead of using a sidebar widget, you’d use a reusable block for your sidebar menu. If you’re interested in learning how to do that, there are some good resources on reusable blocks here:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/reusable-block/One note on the block-based gallery: caption controls are a bit in flux right now, but we’re working on making that better. For now, you should be able to add a caption for the gallery.

Oops, I wasn’t getting answers by email, despite clicking on the email button. I had previously sent the original question to supernovia on May 4, to which she replied promptly. So, we have two going on here. I’m going to concentrate on this one.
I had 3 screen shots to show the problem, but, I’ve LOST them.
Bear with me csonnik and supernovia while I look for them.
Could it between old colinear and new colinear?

Thanks for letting us know you had two different threads going – I merged the May 4th one into this one so you just need to reply to us once here.
We’ll wait to hear back from you with those screenshots! You can also upload them to your site’s media library if you like.
Thanks!

Thanks for those! Just so we’re clear – which site looks like how you want and which one doesn’t? Once we have that information, we’ll be happy to take a closer look.

Ok, so we’ve got:
the bad one: https://nbstearmans.com/canadian-stearmans/cf-dxx-series/
the good one: https://nbavengers.com/gldx-glex-series-go-series-canadausa/gldx-norfolk-b18-bu-53768/
The issue here is that https://nbstearmans.com/canadian-stearmans/cf-dxx-series/ was build with the block editor, while https://nbavengers.com/gldx-glex-series-go-series-canadausa/gldx-norfolk-b18-bu-53768/ was built with the classic editor.
We are aware of some styling issues with captions under the block editor, which are being addressed.
If you’d like captions to appear exactly as they used to for now, you can build the new page using a Classic Block: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/

Thanks all. Can I change from Block editor to Classic globally or do I have to do it block by block? That would be hundreds of blocks.
-
No, you’ll have to use the Classic Block each time, but there’s no limit to how many images and how much text you can have in one Classic Block.
