Does Comment Moderation support Regular Expressions?
-
I have a WordPress.com blog and I was wondering if the Comment Moderation was the same as that of WordPress.org, which supports regular expressions.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regular_expression
http://codex.wordpress.org/Comment_Moderation says:
he second option is to specify a set of moderation keys which, if present in any part of the comment, will cause it to be held for moderation. These keys are specified one per line in the large text area, which is blank by default. Moderation keys can include Spam Words, swear words, IP addresses, and Regular Expressions.

Then yes, as you can see on the Discussions page of your Dashboard, there is a block where you can put in words, etc that will cause it to be held for moderation.
-
That’s not what I’m asking.
Please answer only if you know what regular expressions are.

I put
zyx?yz
as a rule to go into moderation but when I commented with “zyyz”, the comment does not go into moderation. Is there something else I have to do to indicate it is a regular expression rule, or does Comment Moderation for WordPress.com not support regular expressions?

Were you logged out when you left that comment? Blog owners can always use anything at all on their own blogs. If you log out, that’ll be the true test.

Now, that is very unusual. It should definitely have held it for moderation. Can you check the Discussions settings again and see if it saved the instruction?

WordPress.com Functions different from WordPress.org
you can read up on the comment moderation by following this

What does it mean when you reply to someones blog and you get the message that your comments are awaiting moderation?
Thanks

It means that the blogger has their blog set up so that all comments have to be approved before they will appear on the blog.
