  Does your domain name depend on how search engines rank your website

  Like does the domain name that I have now make it hard for search engines to rank it

  Or should I change it

  Yes I already know and read the link but other than advertising through word ads etc are there other ways to monetize by making money from your site

  I was doing research and it said in order to make money off your site you have to have a custom domain and it said my site is not eligible for that

  Do you have to pay for a custom domain name

  So basically if you have a custom domain or mapped domain your eligible to make money off your site

  If not you can’t make money

  I was doing research and it says only sites with custom and mapped domains are eligible

  I have a free wordpress.com site with the free url not a custom domain

  They said you can’t make money with the free wordpress.com url only custom or mapped domain

  You will need a custom domain to apply for our advertising program.

  You can still add a PayPal button for donations though on a free site: https://wordpress.com/support/paypal/view-all/
