Does Guided Transfer work from .org to .com?

    Just wondering if we can pay you guys $129 dollars and have you do the migration from pressharbor.com (rackshare) to wordpress.com?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    No. Guided transfers are for migrating the opposite direction only. See: https://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/

    That export/import plugin doesn’t work at all.

    this is what I get trying to import a wordpress.org site into a wordpress.com site:

    Import WordPress
    Using LIBXML_COMPACT Using LIBXML_PARSEHUGE

    Sorry, there has been an error.
    This does not appear to be a WXR file, missing/invalid WXR version number

    it doesn’t ask me to map users so my next attempt will be to import just certain users.

    But this is not a real solution.

    you should stop telling people about the import / export plugin because it is totally non-functional.

    Instead just let people know that moving an old buggy version of wordpress from the wild into a wordpress.com won’t ever happen because they don’t want the bugs.

    This should be easier than it is.

    But really, that plugin shouldn’t be mentioned by serious people.

    It fails every time.
