Does Hemingway Rewritten theme offer a post archives style?
-
I’ve spent a lot of time trying to find the answer to this question. I’m currently using the Chateau theme, which offers a post archive style option. I’m not speaking of the archives drop down menu, but rather a format which displays the latest post fully, then below that is an archive or “you might also like” collection of past posts. Make sense? I’m curious to know, before switching themes, if Hemingway Rewritten offers a similar style option.

Hi Brenda,
I don’t suppose you’re talking about Related Posts? It’s usually three of your own posts which are in some way similar to the post which the viewer just read?
If so, then yes, that is something which is built in to all of WordPress.com now. You can control it in your settings right here:

If not, let me know what you’re talking about and I’ll be happy to look in to it further!

No, not related posts, though what I’m speaking of is similar in nature. On my current theme, Chateau, I have the option to display all posts consecutively, in full, scrolling from one post through to the next post, through that post in its entirety, then the next post, etc. I’m sure there’s a term for this. So, I can scroll through each post, OR I can select an option which displays only the latest post in its entirety, with previous posts displaying only the title and first sentence (similar to related posts) afterwards. I can chose how many to display, from like 3 to 10. If you take at my front page currently, scroll through the first post, you’ll see what I’m referring to at the end.
Thanks so much!

Ah! I see exactly what you mean now.
I just verified and Hemingway Rewritten does not have an archive feature quite like that. In fact I can’t say as I’ve ever seen a theme that uses previous posts in quite the same way.
There are quite a few themes which do excerpts, but in most cases it is an either/or situation. A theme does an excerpt or it does the full post. It rarely does both I’m afraid.
